“I have configured encryption on my volume. Now I have forgotten the password. Is it possible to remove the encryption?”

QTS encrypts all data on the volume with 256-bit AES encryption.

Once the volume is configured, it is not possible to remove the encryption.

If you forget the encryption password, all data will become inaccessible.

It is recommended to save the encryption key to avoid this issue.

If the password is lost, but the volume is already unlocked, it is recommended to backup the data outside of the volume first, then remove the volume and recreate a new one.
