High Availability Manager
Maximize service uptime with automatic failover
Create a High Availability (HA) cluster with QNAP NAS to ensure continuous operation and real-time data protection, even during unexpected failures.
Every industry needs HA
HA provides a stable and reliable system environment, minimizing the risk of downtime for core business operations. Thus, regardless of your organization’s size or industry, implementing an HA solution enhances your disaster recovery strategy.
QNAP High Availability is easy-to-use and cost-effective,

Implement QNAP High Availability architecture
Create a HA cluster with two QNAP NAS— one as the active server, and the other as the passive server. If an unexpected failure or issue with the active server occurs, the passive server provides immediate protection with automatic failover. This ensures continuous storage service and system availability.
-
Easy management and monitoring of HA clusters
Use the High Availability Manager app to easily configure, remove, or rebuild clusters. You can monitor hardware status, transmission speeds, and the latency of both active and backup servers.
-
Guaranteed data consistency
Utilize QNAP’s proven SnapSync technology to achieve real-time data synchronization between the active and passive servers, minimizing the risk of data loss (RPO). Learn more SnapSync
-
Ensured continuity of critical business
Should the active server encounter failures, the passive server immediately takes over all services (Failover), completing the switch within 1 minute to achieve minimal Recovery Time Objective (RTO < 90 secs).

NAS system requirements
Two identical QNAP NAS are required: one as the active server, and the other as the passive server.
- NAS models must be identical.
- QuTS hero h5.3 (or later) must be used by both NAS.
- At least 8 GB memory is required on both NAS.
1. Some features available in h5.2.x may be temporarily unavailable after upgrading to QuTS hero h5.3. Please check the Release Note before upgrading. Click and download OS.
2. If NAS services are already enabled, please back up your data and restore to factory settings before configuring HA to ensure system stability.
