Why does HA failover/switchover disrupt SMB file operations on a HybridMount mounted folder?

Last modified date: 2025-06-30

Applicable Products

  • QuTS hero h5.3.0 or later
  • High Availability Manager
  • HybridMount

Cause

During a high-availability (HA) switchover or failover, HybridMount must restart and remount all remote connections. If a file read/write operation initiated from an SMB client is still in progress at the time of failover or switchover, the process will be interrupted, preventing the operation from completing.

Solution

Please restart any interrupted file operations from the SMB client after the failover or switchover process is complete.
