Data protection methods
  1. Replication: Stores multiple identical copies of data across different storage nodes to ensure availability. The maximum replication level is limited by the number of storage nodes in the cluster.
  2. Erasure coding: Splits data into data blocks (K) and parity blocks (M) and distributes them across storage nodes for fault tolerance with lower storage overhead. The total number of blocks (K + M) cannot exceed the number of storage nodes, and K must be greater than M.
