Folder Encryption

Procedure

Yes, you can restore an encrypted folder if you didn't select the Also remove the data option when you deleted the folder. To do this, you must know the exact name and password of the encrypted folder.

  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Go to Privilege> Shared Folders.
  3. In the toolbar, click Create > Shared Folder.
The Create a Shared Folder window opens.
  4. In the Folder Name field, specify the same name as the previous encrypted folder.
  5. In the Folder Encryption section, enable Encryption.
  6. In the password fields, specify the same password as the previous encrypted folder.
  7. Click Next and assign any access permissions.
  8. Click Next and enable any folder properties.
  9. Click Finish.
    The system creates the folder.
  10. Refresh the shared folder page.

The encrypted folder should be available again. Content previously stored within the folder should also be available.

Note
If you didn't specify the same password, the system won't create a new folder, and will send the following event to the system log:
[Shared folder] Failed to create encrypted shared folder "YOUR_FOLDER_NAME". The system tried to recreate an existing encrypted share folder but the password was incorrect.
