Is the ES NAS RAID equipped with the hot spare feature? Where can I find this option?

Last modified date: 2018-03-02

Unlike traditional RAID modes where a drive must be assigned as a hot spare when the array is created, the ES NAS hot spare mechanism uses a global design where no special settings are required. If disk failure occurs in any of the arrays, the system will automatically choose a "Ready" (initialized but blank drive that has not been used by any storage pools) for array reconstruction.

"Ready" (initialized but blank) drives will be used as a global hot spare.
