Based in Italy, Tredigraph is a multimedia production agency specializing in industrial communication. The studio creates 3D animations, renderings, and interactive content to simplify complex engineering concepts for sales support. Managing its entire production workflow in-house without third-party vendors, Tredigraph relies exclusively on internal workstations and a dedicated 24/7 on-premises render farm.

Challenges

Tredigraph's legacy storage system was nearing full capacity, with an estimated remaining lifespan of just eight months. Additionally, the existing 10 GbE connection created severe bottlenecks and performance drops during peak concurrent team access. To sustain growth, the studio needed to expand network bandwidth, scale storage capacity, and implement immutable data protection to safeguard high-value assets against loss or cyber threats.

Solution

To break through these operational ceilings, Tredigraph partnered with system integrator Mister Web to engineer a high-performance studio ecosystem. At its heart sits the QNAP TS-h2477AXU-RP-R7 enterprise NAS — an engine driven by an AMD Ryzen™ 7 PRO processor, 128 GB of RAM, and the ZFS-based QuTS hero operating system.

To fuel the hungry 24/7 render farm with zero delay, the team deployed a lightning-fast 16 TB NVMe SSD cache tier, anchored by a massive 432 TB HDD vault for long-term project archives. Traffic bottlenecks dissolved as creative assets began flying across an ultra-wide 50 GbE fiber highway powered by the QNAP QSW-M5216-1T switch. Rounding out the transformation, WORM immutable folders and a strict 3-2-1-1-0 backup architecture were woven directly into the storage fabric, creating a secure digital vault for every project.

The new infrastructure completely eliminated bandwidth bottlenecks, drastically accelerating file loading, saving, and 3D rendering tasks. The creative team now works with the peace of mind of 4 to 5 years of storage headroom and 10-year immutable WORM protection for finished projects.
