Block-basedBlock-based LUN is ideal for virtual environments as it outperforms its file-based counterpart.
-
SnapshotsBlock-based LUN snapshots increase efficiency for shortened RPO and RTO.
Deployment and management
Flexibility, performance and security
You can create multiple iSCSI targets on a single QNAP NAS, and map/un-map one or more LUNs with targets. Re-mapping a LUN to a different target is also possible. Both thick and thin allocations are available for a LUN, so you can optimize storage space utilization on a QNAP NAS at a lower initial cost, and then expand it as your requirements grow. Authentication and LUN masking help keep your digital assets safe over the network.

Certified storage for virtual environments
Total compatibility with major virtualization solutions
QNAP is certified by VMware® vSphere™, Microsoft® Hyper-V®, Citrix® XenServer™, and further supports OpenStack storage with QNAP's Cinder Driver. Your virtualization environment is backed by the high compatibility and reliability of QNAP NAS.
