QNAP NAS System Migration Compatibility

You can migrate an entire QNAP NAS, including its hard drives and storage architecture, to another NAS while retaining all existing data for a seamless system migration. Before migrating, please check the compatibility list first, then ensure both the source and destination NAS are powered off.

Both NAS must be on the same operating system (QTS or QuTS Hero) before attempting to migrate or it may lead to data loss.

This tool is intended for migrating the entire system and storage architecture. It is not applicable for relocating a single drive or for data-only transfers (data migration).

Tutorial

Due to file system incompatibilities, system migration between the QTS and QuTS hero operating systems is not supported. For detailed instructions on how to switch the operating system on your new NAS and complete the migration, please refer to this tutorial.
