Qsirch
This applies to the following application and browser extension versions (and later): Qsirch 5.0.1 on the NAS, Qsirch 1.5.3 for Android, Qsirch 1.5.0 for iOS, Qsirch Helper 1.5.1 for Google Chrome, and Qsirch Helper 1.5.2 for Firefox.
Qsirch is a full-text search engine that helps you find files based on file name, content, and metadata. Qsirch has three applications for three different platforms, all of which are designed to help you find files on your QNAP NAS. Depending on your needs, Qsirch allows you to perform various file operations on your search results, such as sharing files to other users and locating them directly on the NAS.
Qsirch Helper allows you to search for files on your NAS using Google Chrome or Firefox. The extension also simultaneously searches for relevant files on your NAS when searching for files on the Internet.
QNAP provides different types of licenses for Qsirch. For more information on a paid license for Qsirch on the NAS, go to https://software.qnap.com/qsirch.html.
System Requirements
Qsirch on the NAS
Qsirch 5.0.1 or later must meet the following requirements.

The NAS architecture must be x86 (64 bit), ARM 64-bit, or an ARM x41 (32-bit).

The NAS model must have at least 2 GB RAM of pre-installed memory.

The NAS must be running one of the following operating system versions or later: QTS 4.4.3, QuTScloud c4.5.2, or QuTS hero h4.5.0.
For details on updating your NAS firmware, go to the System Settings section of the appropriate operating system User Guide.
Earlier versions of Qsirch are compatible with earlier versions of QTS, QuTScloud, and QuTS hero.
Qsirch Mobile

Qsirch is compatible with Android 8 or iOS 11 or later.

Qsirch for Android and iOS are available in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.

Getting Started
You must install Qsirch on the NAS to allow Qsirch applications and browser extensions to search for files on your NAS.
Installing Qsirch on the NAS
Before installing Qsirch, ensure that a default volume has been configured on the NAS. For details, see the volumes section of the QTS User Guide.

You must add a NAS to allow Qsirch and Qsirch Helper to search for files on that NAS.

To download Qsirch Helper, go to the extension page on Google Chrome or Firefox.
Managing Search Sources
Defining additional search sources allows you to expand where Qsirch can look for files. You can include other devices by installing Qsirch on your NAS and adding the device as a search source.
Additionally, you can include your PC within the search scope by installing Qsirch PC Edition. By default all computers that install and configure Qsirch PC Edition are included as part of the search scope.

Qsirch allows you to search for files on your NAS.
Searching for Files on the NAS Using Qsirch
This task only applies to Qsirch on the NAS.
To access Qsirch on the NAS, you must log in first.
Searching for Files Using an Interactive Map
This task only applies to Qsirch on the NAS.
Qsirch only finds photos that have a GPS location.
Searching for Files Using People Image Search
This task only applies to Qsirch on the NAS.
You can use People Image Search to find all photos of a person.
Searching for Files Using Qsirch Mobile
Searching for Offline Files Using Qsirch Mobile
This task only applies to Qsirch mobile.
By adding files to the Download folder, you can search for them offline. Changing the download folder does not remove previous files from the Offline search.
Searching for Files on the NAS Using Qsirch Helper
Simultaneous search in Qsirch Helper allows you to search for relevant files on your NAS while searching for files on the Internet. This feature is enabled by default.
Performing File Operations on Search Results
Depending on the platform, you can open, download, share, or locate your search results using built-in or third-party applications. Qsirch on the NAS allows you to perform file operations on a file with or without previewing a file. To preview documents using Qsirch on the NAS, you must enable Cloud Viewer. For details, see Previewing Files Using Cloud Services.

This task only applies to Qsirch on the NAS.
Enabling Cloud Viewer allows you to preview documents on Qsirch. Depending on your preferences or needs, you can choose to preview files using the Google Docs Viewer or the Microsoft Office Viewer.

This task applies to Qsirch on the NAS.

Filtering Your Search Results
The tasks described in this section applies to Qsirch on the NAS. There are different ways to narrow your search results. Depending on your needs, you can choose to include or exclude files and add or remove filters. Users on a Lite license can only apply three filters for each category. To add more filters, you must purchase Qsirch Premium for Qsirch on the NAS from the QNAP Software Store.

Excluding Folders or Files From the Indexing Scope
Qsirch can skip over excluded folders and files for faster searches.
Only users in the administrator group can access this feature. For more information, see the Privilege section in the user guide for your operating system.

Advanced Image Index gives you more control over what images Qsirch looks for in specific folders.

Adding a QNAP ID
You can add more than one QNAP ID to give you more search options. Adding a QNAP ID adds all NAS devices associated with that account to Qsirch.
Deleting a QNAP ID
You can delete a QNAP ID and all its associated devices from Qsirch mobile or only remove the QNAP ID information.
