QNAP Launches QuAgent AI Agent Platform for NAS Management, Turning Conversation into Action
Leave complex menus and commands behind and run system tasks through natural conversation
Taipei, Taiwan, October 27, 2026 – QNAP® Systems, Inc., a leading innovator in storage, networking, and data protection solutions, today released QuAgent Beta, an interactive AI agent platform for NAS management, alongside its integrated AI assistant, Aina.
Running directly on QNAP NAS systems, QuAgent lets users instruct the system to perform tasks through natural conversation, simplifying complex system configuration and file management so that NAS operation is no longer limited by technical barriers or tedious menu navigation—ushering in a new era of intelligent management.
"Our goal with QuAgent is to transform the NAS from passive storage into an active, intelligent partner," said Yuna Chen, Product Manager of QNAP. "As AI assistants rapidly become part of everyday life and workflows, we believe NAS management should be just as intuitive, efficient, and easy for everyone to use."
Key Features
-
Intuitive natural language operations: Users simply describe what they need in everyday conversational language—such as "Find videos added last week"—and Aina understands the intent and executes the task, with no need to memorize command syntax or navigate through menus.
-
Orchestration across core applications: QuAgent integrates with core NAS applications, including File Station, QuMagie, Hybrid Backup Sync (HBS), and Hyper Data Protection series, streamlining what were once tedious, multi-step workflows across apps into automated operations completed with a single prompt.
-
Intelligent log and security analysis with QuLog: QuAgent goes beyond keyword searches to analyze system events, login records, and abnormal access patterns, helping administrators monitor system health and identify potential security risks.
-
Schedule automation and screen awareness: Tasks executed in conversation can be converted into recurring scheduled jobs via "My Schedules." Additionally, screen awareness automatically recognizes the active application window and allows you to ask questions about the current window.
-
Permission governance, flexible models, and security: Multi-user conversation isolation and strict access control keep data secure. Users can flexibly switch between privacy-focused on-premises models and high-performance cloud LLMs, and high-risk actions—such as file deletions or system setting changes—require explicit secondary confirmation.
Supported Models:
-
x86-based NAS (x74 Series & Above): e.g., TS-x74 series, TVS-h874, etc.
-
TVS-AI Series: e.g., TVS-AIh1688ATX
-
QAI Edge AI Storage Server Series: e.g., QAI-h1290FX, QAI-16700, etc.
System Requirements
-
Supported OS: QTS 6.1 or QuTS hero h6.1 and later.
-
Installation: Install QuAgent via the QNAP App Center. AI Service Center is required for AI model management.
-
