QNAP Shifts Focus to Developing New-gen Smart Surveillance Solutions, Discontinues Legacy VioStor NVR Network Surveillance Systems
Taipei, Taiwan, July 14, 2023 - QNAP® Systems, Inc. today announced that all software updates and technical support for legacy VioStor NVR network surveillance systems will be discontinued from October 31, 2023. The discontinuation will allow for additional resources to be committed to developing next-generation smart surveillance solutions.
Notes:

Legacy VioStor NVR products can still be used. However, they will no longer receive updates and will not be eligible for technical support.

The Product Authorization Key conversion function of the VioStor NVR License Pack will also be invalidated simultaneously with the License Manager.
Users must activate their license no later than October 31, 2023. -
Those looking to upgrade their surveillance solutions can consider next-generation solutions from QNAP:
• QVR Pro: Supports up to 128 camera channels* and can be integrated with QVR Face smart facial recognition (license purchase required).
• Subscription-based QVR Elite: Supports up to 192 camera channels* with subscription fees starting from only US $1.99 per month.
• QVR Pro Appliance: The all-new NVR series with built-in QVR Pro software.
Users can centrally manage all QNAP surveillance servers, including QVR Pro and QVR Elite servers with QVR Center. -
NVR products with model names beginning with "QVP" are not affected by this announcement.
