This means your QNAP device can't be directly managed through port forwarding, the current setting block the anonymous attacks from the internet.

Try the following alternative solutions to access your NAS from remote:

  • Using myQNAPcloud Link, you can access the device via myQnapCloud Link without port forwarding. For details, see here.
  • Using QVPN with non-default VPN port, you can access the device with an encrypted connection after VPN authentication in a more security method. For details, see here.

If you need to directly access the NAS through port forwarding, highly recommend to change the default system port number. To troubleshoot the port forwarding issue, try the following:

  • Check port forwarding is properly configured on your router. You may need to restart your router and NAS after changing these settings. Check which ports on the router are opened to the internet after setup.
  • Ensure the router is directly connected to the internet and doesn’t use another NAT router as a gateway. You can check this by making sure the WAN IP address of your router matches the DDNS IPv4 address listed in myQNAPcloud.
  • Contact your network administrator or ISP to ensure the ports aren’t blocked.
