Why am I unable to create a storage pool on an SED SSD?

Last modified date: 2020-07-08

If you create an SED encrypted storage pool on an SSD, erase the encrypted partition using Windows, and then reinstall the SSD in the NAS, the disk’s encryption cannot be disabled or unlocked.

To resolve this issue, erase the SSD using SED Erase. SED Erase requires the PSID, which can usually be found on the disk’s label.
