Overview

If you are experiencing any hardware issues on your unmanaged QSW switch, try the following before troubleshooting.

  1. Power off the switch.
  2. Disconnect the network cables from the switch.
  3. Connect the power adapter to the DC IN input of the switch.
  4. Connect the power cord to the electrical outlet.
  5. Make sure that the electrical outlet has power.

Power adapter fails to work or switch cannot power on

  1. Power on the switch.
  2. Check if the system status LED on the switch turns green.

Possible Causes

If the system status LED does not turn on, the power adapter or the switch could be faulty.

Network issues

  1. Connect the WAN port of the switch to the network.
  2. Connect the LAN port of the switch to the computer.
  3. Confirm whether the WAN port LED turns orange and the LAN port LED turns green.

Possible Causes

If the port LEDs are not behaving as expected, the switch could be experiencing a network issue.

If the switch is encountering any of the above issues, create a QNAP support ticket.
