Why is my QNAP NAS being incorrectly reported as offline? Why does my NAS display "Agent has problem"? Why does my NAS display "Q'center agent is abnormal"?

There are several possible causes for these issues:

Cause Fix

Your network firewall is blocking ports 6600, 6606, 6621 or 6623.

Configure your firewall settings.

Your network is heavily congested or has limited capability for handling multicasts.

Check your network and related router settings.

The IP address has changed for Q'center or the managed NAS.

  1. Log in to the managed NAS.
  2. Open the Q’center Agent.
  3. Manually set the Q'center IP address.

Your NAS is not working normally and has caused the Q’center Agent to become unstable.

Disable the Q’center Agent

  1. Log in to the managed NAS,
  2. Disable the Q’center Agent.
  3. Re-enable the agent.

Reinstall the Q’center Agent
Note: Using this method will remove all historical records for the managed NAS.

  1. Remove the managed NAS from Q'center.
  2. Log in to the managed NAS.
  3. Uninstall the Q'center Agent.
  4. Add the managed NAS to Q’center again.

Q'center Agent is unable to send or receive data normally because the managed NAS is under heavy CPU load (> 90%) or has limited network bandwidth.

  • Reduce the CPU usage for the NAS.
  • Establish a dedicated monitoring network from the NAS to Q'center.
