Challenges
Before adopting QNAP's solution, Huiyan IoT faced three major pain points in its daily collaboration. First, file sharing and transfer were cumbersome, seriously delaying delivery schedules. Second, because its traffic data is confidential, there was a high risk of file leakage during transfer. Finally, file access permissions were unclear from one project to the next, creating security risks and making unauthorized access or accidental errors all too easy.
Solution
To address these issues, Huiyan IoT has deployed 6 QNAP NAS units of various models in-house since purchasing its first device in 2012, fitted with 12 high-capacity 16 TB drives for company-wide use. The solution covers core functions such as file sharing, data backup, and remote access. The company chose QNAP mainly for its comprehensive, versatile solutions that suit all kinds of office files and data, building a private cloud storage foundation that combines high-speed LAN collaboration with secure remote access across locations.
Result
QNAP NAS directly resolved Huiyan IoT's pain points around file-transfer convenience and security, and delivered a mature approach to permission management. IT administrators can now tightly control internal data access, eliminating the risk of unauthorized access. At the same time, the team's efficiency when working across locations has improved markedly, with considerable cost savings. Freed from traditional transfer methods, the team can now focus more productively on developing its core software products and data services.
