Why can’t I play media files from my NAS on an Apple TV?

Solution

QNAP NAS devices don't support AirPlay when casting media to Apple TVs running tvOS 13.2 or later.

To resolve this issue, you can use the Qmedia app to stream multimedia content from your NAS to your AppleTV. The Qmedia app is available from the App store here.
