Dual E1.S PCIe slots take NAS performance further

TS-h665 features two built-in E1.S PCIe slots for high-performance NVMe SSDs, making everyday NAS operation noticeably more responsive.

• Configure SSD caching

  When you need to read and write large numbers of small files, the two E1.S SSDs can be set as cache drives for a noticeable boost in read and write performance. Depending on the application, you can enable read-only, read-write, or write-only cache on the NAS. QNAP SSD cache settings can be enabled, disabled, or changed at any time without interrupting your services.

  For larger file transfers, the two E1.S SSDs can be combined into a high-speed storage pool. With Qtier hero manual tiering, cold data is kept on hard drives and hot data on SSDs for the most efficient balance of capacity and speed.

As 2.5GbE networking becomes mainstream, a 1GbE connection quickly turns into a NAS bottleneck. TS-h665 includes two 2.5GbE (2.5G/1G/100M) ports, so you can reuse your existing CAT5e cabling and immediately enjoy 2.5 times the bandwidth of 1GbE. Enable SMB Multichannel across both 2.5GbE ports to reach 5 Gbps of throughput with network failover, without paying to upgrade your network card. For even higher bandwidth needs, you can also install a dual-port 10GBASE-T network card to add 2x 10GbE expansion. Pair it with QNAP's range of managed and unmanaged 2.5GbE/10GbE switches to build a fast, secure network on a modest budget.
