Frequently Asked Questions

How do I apply a QVR Pro license in QVR Surveillance?

QVR Surveillance 3.0.x

You cannot add a QVR Pro license directly in the QNAP License Center if QVR Pro is not installed on the NAS. To use a QVR Pro license with QVR Surveillance:

  1. Install QVR Pro from App Center.
  2. Add and activate the QVR Pro license in the QNAP License Center.
  3. Start QVR Surveillance.

After the license is activated, QVR Surveillance detects the license and applies the corresponding licensed channels.

QVR Surveillance 3.1.0 and later

You can add and activate a QVR Pro license directly in the QNAP License Center after installing QVR Surveillance. Installing QVR Pro is not required.

Do I need to deactivate my QVR Pro or QVR Elite license before switching to QVR Surveillance?

No. You do not need to manually deactivate the license. As long as it is not currently active in QVR Pro or QVR Elite, QVR Surveillance will automatically detect and apply it during installation.

What should I do if my license is not showing in QVR Surveillance?

Please navigate to the QNAP License Center on your NAS and verify two things:

  1. The license status is set to "Activated."
  2. The license is not currently in use by another QVR application.
