Introduction
Qcontactz is an application for QNAP NAS that allows users to centrally store and manage contact information in an always-online database that can be accessed from any computer or mobile device. This document explains how to install, initialize and start using the Qcontactz application.
System Requirements
Container Station must be installed and initialized before using Qcontactz.
For QTS 4.2, Qcontactz requires Container Station v1.5 (or newer).
For QTS 4.3, Qcontactz requires Container Station v1.7 (or newer).
How to install Qcontactz
Go to “App Center” > “Recommended” and find Qcontactz. Click “Add To QTS” to install the application.

How to add contacts
When using Qcontactz for the first time, the following page will be displayed to assist in adding contacts.

There are three ways to add contacts to Qcontactz:
Import contacts from Google
To import contacts from a Google account, click the "Google" button as shown in Fig 2 or open the side menu and go to "More" > "Import" > "Google" as shown in Fig 3. Users must log in to the Google account they want to import contacts from.

After importing contacts from a Google account, click "Manage Accounts" to change the account's settings. A schedule can be set for importing contacts from these accounts or they can be manually imported at any time.

Import contacts from CSV or vCard files
To import contacts from a CSV or vCard file, click the "File Import" button as shown in Fig 2 or open the side menu and go to "More" > "Import" > "File Import" as shown in Fig 5. Files can be imported from a local PC or from the NAS.

The contents of CSV files can be previewed and field mapped before importing them.

Manually create contacts
To manually add contacts, click the floating blue icon.

How to manage contacts
Qcontactz provides several tools to efficiently manage a huge contacts database.
Merge duplicates
To find and merge duplicate contacts, open the side menu and go to "More" > "Duplicates Manager".

Merged contacts will be displayed in the Merge History. To restore a merged contact, click the contact and then the restore button.

Groups
To assign contacts to a group, select them and then click the group button.

Favorites
To add a contact to favorites, select the contact and click the favorite button.

Private contacts
Private contacts are protected using a high-security password. To make contacts private, select the contacts and click the lock button.

To view private contacts, open the side menu and go to "Private".

Snapshot management
To take snapshots of the contacts database, open the side menu and go to "More" > "Snapshot Management". To restore the contents of a snapshot, click the "Restore Snapshot" button.

How to use contacts
The contacts database can be used in different scenarios to enhance productivity.
Export contacts to CSV or vCard files
To export contacts as a CSV or vCard file, open the side menu and go to "More" > "Export".

Stay connected using QmailAgent
QmailAgent is an application for QNAP NAS that allows users to centralize their email accounts and to send/receive emails using their NAS. When used with Qcontactz it provides a quick and easy way to send emails to contacts. In the main dashboard, click on an email address and QmailAgent will display a new window to compose an email.
Note: QmailAgent must be installed before using this feature.

Flexible API Integration
To access the Qcontactz API, click the Qcontactz API button. Qcontactz can also be integrated with existing corporate CRM/ERP databases to provide a cross-platform and multi-terminal contacts management solution.
