Huang Renyi has more than 20 years of experience as a field photographer. Starting from his first digital camera in 1996, he has now accumulated thousands of photographic works. Huang Renyi previously served as editor-in-chief of Apple Daily. Currently, he is a freelance photographer specializing in portraits and situational photography. He is a guest lecturer at Shixin University and Taiwan Arts University.
With his passion for photography and fashion, Huang Renyi has also stepped into the fashion circle in recent years. He has been invited as director of photography of internationally-renowned fashion magazines such as BAZAAR, COSMOPOLITIAN and Esquire. He has also filmed personal photo albums for Vivian Hsu, Amber An and other well-known artists. With his own unique photography style, Huang Renyi now enjoys a high reputation in the world of arts photography.
Previously, most media data was stored by burning them to disc. However, due to their limited capacity, a vast number discs were needed to store the hundreds of gigabytes of a large photo collection. Coupled with other shortcomings of disc-based data, many photographers found themselves being frustrated. When Huang Renyi was still serving as editor-in-chief of Apple Daily, he often advised colleagues to make it a habit to back up information on discs and avoid losing their work in unexpected situations. For Huang Renyi, he had to find a storage solution that would make it possible to easily transfer data from old discs while being able to expand the storage capacity at the same time to solve the existing file storage problem.
After many years working as a photographer, Huang Renyi has created many classic and impressive works. The trouble is that whenever he needed to archive and sort his works, it was both time-consuming and frustrating. Searching for specific files in a huge archive of his life's work could sometimes be like finding a needle in a haystack. All of these elements could delay his work schedule, so he required a storage solution with automatic archiving and quick searching to improve efficiency.
In order to solve the problems encountered in file storage and management, Huang Renyi selected a QNAP TVS-882BRT3 as his personal media data storage center. The QNAP TVS-882BRT3 uniquely features a 5.25-inch slot for installing an optical disc drive, allowing disc-based content to be saved to the NAS. The TVS-882BRT3 is equipped with a 5.25-inch drive bay for installing a SATA optical disc drive. Either one drive or two half-height drives can be installed. USB disc drivers are also supported. Works of Huang Renyi were previously stored in disc format. Now when the TVS-882BRT3 has archived and backed up those files, they can be viewed online using File Station. With multiple file sharing methods, this has satisfied the double needs of file backup and file sharing at one shot.
After many years of working in photography, Huang Renyi has accumulated a large number of project materials. Then, the files of the same project sometimes have different names due to subsequent modifications, making it difficult to find files.
