There are two ways to start uploading recordings to myQNAPcloud Surveillance after assigning a license.

Set up the license during initial configuration
1. Go to Recording Storage > Channel Management > Local Storage, select your desired channels, and click "Back up to myQNAPcloud Surveillance".
2. You will complete the license checkout at the final step.
Purchase the license first and assign it later
1. Purchase a license at the QNAP Software Store.
2. Go to Recording Storage > Channel Management > myQNAPcloud Surveillance and assign the license to your specific channels.

Licenses are assigned based on the recording type (Continuous or Event) for a specific stream.

Single Recording Type: If you only need to upload either continuous or event recordings, one license is required.
Dual Recording Type: If you require both continuous and event recordings from the same channel simultaneously, you must assign two licenses to that channel.

You must select a license that matches or exceeds your camera's output settings.

Uploading recordings which exceed the max bitrate or max file size will make your Backup Channel & Type appear “Abnormal.”
