For more information, see How to start uploading recordings to myQNAPcloud Surveillance?

Licenses are assigned based on the recording type (Continuous or Event) for a specific stream.

  • Single Recording Type: If you only need to upload either continuous or event recordings, one license is required.
  • Dual Recording Type: If you require both continuous and event recordings from the same channel simultaneously, you must assign two licenses to that channel.

For detailed license information, please see the FAQ article – What license should I prepare for myQNAPcloud Surveillance.

You must select a license that matches or exceeds your camera's output settings.

License Max Resolution Max Bitrate Max File Size (per min)
1080p 1920*1080 4 Mbps (4,096 Kbps) 35 MB (~597 KB/s)
4K 3840*2160 8 Mbps (8,192 Kbps) 70 MB (~1.1 MB/s)
8K 7680*4320 12 Mbps (12,288 Kbps) 140 MB (~2.3 MB/s)

Uploading recordings which exceed the max bitrate or max file size will make your Backup Channel & Type appear “Abnormal.”
