• Removed support for USB printers.
• To ensure data security, system stability, and storage performance, the maximum number of drives for a single RAID group is now 16 (applicable to RAID 5, RAID 6, and subgroups of RAID 50 and RAID 60). Nevertheless, users can combine multiple RAID groups into a large storage pool that contains more than 16 drives, using RAID 50, RAID 60, or RAID 10 as the RAID configuration. This enhancement will only be applied to new RAID groups. All existing RAID groups and storage systems will not be affected.

Desktop

• QTS now supports Desktop Notice Board, which provides notifications for various events and announcements.

Control Panel

• QTS now supports TLS 1.3 for HTTPS secure connection.
• Users can now import custom root certificates to certify the SSL certificate of a server that the NAS needs to access.
• Users can now configure reverse proxy rules to hide the sensitive information on the server from clients and to enhance the security of data transmission over the network.

Firmware

• Updated OpenSSL to 1.1.1.

Storage

• Improved SSD cache design to enhance storage performance. Existing SSD cache will be automatically converted to the new design after QTS update to 5.0.0.

• Added support for QuFTP Service, which allows users to configure and manage various FTP settings.

File Station

• File Station now supports displaying thumbnail previews for PDF files.

NVS

• Starting from QTS 5.0.0, Advanced Network Driver is no longer a built-in component. Nevertheless, QTS automatically downloads the driver if the NAS is connected to the Internet. To install the driver, go to Network & Virtual Switch and follow the on-screen instructions. You can also manually download the driver from the QNAP website.
• Added support for the Intel E810 network adapter and for switching between the following modes: 4x25GbE, 2x25GbE + 2x25GbE, 4x10GbE + 4x10GbE, and 100GbE + 100GbE.

App Center

• QTS administrators can now purchase app licenses in the App Center.
• Added support for purchasing and activating licenses in the App Center.

iSCSI&FC

• iSCSI target service binding now supports all types of network portals.

Enhancements

Control Panel

• Added the option to enable or disable strong cipher suites.
• Added an option to choose whether to redirect users to the NAS login screen when connecting to the NAS IP address without the system port. To enhance device security, this option is disabled by default.
• To enhance device security, UPnP Discovery Service is now disabled by default.
• Added support for Content Security Policy HTTP header.
• QTS now enables the default "admin" account and resets its password when users press the Reset button on the NAS for three seconds. Nevertheless, to ensure device security, we recommend disabling the "admin" account and using a new administrator account after you finish resetting the system.
• Users in the administrator group now have read/write access permissions for default shared folders, except the "homes" shared folder.
• Users can now manually specify the time interval and the maximum number of failed login attempts in Control Panel to further enhance NAS security.

Qsync Central

• Qsync Central is not pre-installed in QTS. Users can install this application in the App Center.

QuLog Center

• Improved the user interface of Advanced Search in QuLog Center.
• Added support for displaying the total connection time of online users.
• QuLog Center now displays computer names and accessed resources in System Access Log and Online Users.

Security

• To ensure device security, QTS now displays a message to remind users to disable the default "admin" account and to create another administrator account.
• QTS now displays a message to remind users to enable 2-step verification to ensure account security.

Mustang User driver

• Added support for Mustang User Driver 3.1.2.

Web Initialization

• QTS Smart Installation Guide now requires users to create a new administrator account. The default "admin" account is disabled after initialization.

Local display Initialization

• To ensure device security, QTS now reminds users to disable the default "admin" account and to create another administrator account during HDMI Installation.

Storage&Snapshots

• Storage & Snapshots now displays NAS model pictures in a new style.
• Users can now enable guaranteed snapshot space during storage pool creation and set a snapshot schedule during volume creation.

Desktop

• Added a notification message that reminds users to install Multimedia Console to enable media features.
• Added support for removing certain notifications from the Notice Board.
• QTS now enables dynamic wallpapers by default.

Storage

• Utilization charts in Storage & Snapshots are now located in Pool/Volume/LUN Management for better usability.

File Station

• Modified the naming rules for duplicate folders to enhance usability.
• Added search tips and timeout messages in File Station in the event of searching through a large amount of data.

Samba

Fixed Issues

• SNMP receivers cannot receive SNMP traps sent from ARM-based NAS models.
• When a non-administrator user took a snapshot, System Event Log would still display "admin" as the user who performed this action.
• Users could not upgrade SSD cache when updating QTS from 4.5.4 to 5.0.0.
• Administrators could not edit domain user settings.
• Users could not manually configure the speeds of smart fans.
• Users could not manually adjust LED brightness after updating QTS to 5.0.0.1808.
• The root directory on the TS-x53 models was smaller than normal.

Known Issues

• Some applications cannot access the NAS when secure connection and TLS 1.3 are enabled. This is due to a known issue in the applications. We will fix this issue in upcoming app releases.
• macOS Finder takes a long time to display content in SMB shared folders when users connect the Mac to the NAS via Thunderbolt. This problem may be due to Mac device driver issues. It only occurs to Mac devices with Intel processors and macOS 11 (or later versions).
• Thunderbolt write speeds are lower than expected in QTS 5.0.0. Note: Due to Thunderbolt driver compatibility issues, if you are using macOS 11/12 devices with Intel processors, we do not recommend updating QTS to 5.0.0 for the time being.
• QTS and QuTS hero with newer kernel versions do not support ATTO Fibre Channel adapters. If you have already installed an ATTO Fibre Channel adapter on your device, we do not recommend updating the firmware to QTS 5.0.0 or QuTS hero h5.0.0 for the time being.
• QTS 5.0.0 temporarily does not support certain third-party applications, utilities, or services.
• QRM+ temporarily does not support the TS-x32, TS-x32U and TS-x35A models running QTS 5.0.0. We will add support for these models in upcoming releases.
• Users cannot update the firmware of the QXG-10G2T-NXE network expansion card after updating QTS to 5.0.0.
• Control Panel cannot display the information of the TPU installed in the M.2 slot on the QGD-1602P.
• The TS-453B cannot play sound when users connect the NAS to a monitor via HDMI port 2 and test audio output in HD Station.
• QTS 5.0.0 does not support x63U models. We will add support for these models in upcoming releases.
• After users rename a shared folder, QuLog Center still displays the original folder name in Accessed Resources.
• Network & Virtual Switch displays unexpected interface connection status and FEC status when users connect the following pairs of devices:
  • NAS with Mellanox network adapter + NAS with Mellanox network adapter
  • NAS with Intel E810 network adapter + NAS with Mellanox network adapter
  • NAS with Intel E810 network adapter + Mellanox switch

Other Changes

SSD Profiling Tool

• QTS no longer pre-installs SSD Profiling Tool by default. Users can install this tool in the App Center.

Control Panel

• Replaced SQL Server with MariaDB 5/MariaDB 10, which can be installed in the App Center.
• Removed iSCSI Service from Service Binding in Control Panel. Users can now configure iSCSI service binding settings in iSCSI & Fibre Channel.

Qboost

• Qboost is no longer a built-in application of QTS. Users can choose to install Qboost in App Center.

App Center

• To ensure system security, QTS now automatically disables applications that are not updated and that do not meet the minimum version requirements.
• Removed support for the following applications, utilities, or services:
  • WebERP
  • GLPI
  • Vtiger CRM
  • Ragic Cloud DB

QVR Pro Client & QVR Smart Client

• Starting from QTS 5.0.0, HybridDesk Station no longer supports QVR Pro Client (HDMI output). You can install QVR Smart Client on HybridDesk Station as the client software for your QVR Pro, QVR Elite, or QVP surveillance servers. Note that QVR AI Pack License is required for using QVR Smart Client. You can continue using QVR Pro Client on Windows or macOS as the client software for your surveillance servers to watch live views or play back recordings.

NVR Storage Expansion

• Starting from QTS 5.0.0, NVR Storage Expansion is no longer supported.

Configuratiescherm

• Een optie toegevoegd om te kiezen of gebruikers moeten worden omgeleid naar het NAS-inlogscherm wanneer ze verbinding maken met het NAS IP-adres zonder de systeempoort. Om de apparaatbeveiliging te verbeteren, is deze optie standaard uitgeschakeld.
• Om de apparaatbeveiliging te verbeteren, is UPnP Discovery Service nu standaard uitgeschakeld.

Opgeloste problemen

• SNMP-ontvangers kunnen geen SNMP-traps ontvangen die zijn verzonden vanaf ARM-gebaseerde NAS-modellen.
• Wanneer een niet-beheerder een momentopname maakte, zou het systeemgebeurtenislogboek nog steeds "admin" weergeven als de gebruiker die deze actie heeft uitgevoerd.
• Gebruikers konden de SSD-cache niet upgraden bij het updaten van QTS van 4.5.4 naar 5.0.0.
• Beheerders konden de gebruikersinstellingen van het domein niet bewerken.
• Gebruikers konden de snelheden van slimme ventilatoren niet handmatig configureren.
• Gebruikers konden de LED-helderheid niet handmatig aanpassen na het updaten van QTS naar 5.0.0.1808.
• De hoofdmap op de TS-x53-modellen was kleiner dan normaal.

Bekende problemen

• Sommige toepassingen hebben geen toegang tot de NAS wanneer beveiligde verbinding en TLS 1.3 zijn ingeschakeld. Dit komt door een bekend probleem in de applicaties. We zullen dit probleem oplossen in aankomende app-releases.
• macOS Finder doet er lang over om inhoud in gedeelde SMB-mappen weer te geven wanneer gebruikers de Mac via Thunderbolt met de NAS verbinden. Dit probleem kan te wijten zijn aan problemen met Mac-apparaatstuurprogramma's. Het komt alleen voor bij Mac-apparaten met Intel-processors en macOS 11 (of latere versies).
• Thunderbolt -schrijfsnelheden zijn lager dan verwacht in QTS 5.0.0. Opmerking: Als u macOS 11/12-apparaten met Intel-processors gebruikt, raden we vanwege compatibiliteitsproblemen met Thunderbolt -stuurprogramma's aan om QTS voorlopig niet bij te werken naar 5.0.0.
• QTS en QuTS hero met nieuwere kernelversies ondersteunen geen ATTO Fibre Channel -adapters. Als u al een ATTO Fibre Channel -adapter op uw apparaat hebt geïnstalleerd, raden we u voorlopig niet aan om de firmware bij te werken naar QTS 5.0.0 of QuTS hero h5.0.0.
• QTS 5.0.0 biedt tijdelijk geen ondersteuning voor bepaalde toepassingen, hulpprogramma's of services van derden.
• QRM+ biedt tijdelijk geen ondersteuning voor de TS-x32-, TS-x32U- en TS-x35A-modellen met QTS 5.0.0. We zullen ondersteuning voor deze modellen toevoegen in komende releases.
• Gebruikers kunnen de firmware van de QXG-10G2T-NXE netwerkuitbreidingskaart niet updaten na het updaten van QTS naar 5.0.0.
• Het Configuratiescherm kan de informatie niet weergeven van de TPU die is geïnstalleerd in de M.2-sleuf op de QGD-1602P.
• De TS-453B kan geen geluid afspelen wanneer gebruikers de NAS aansluiten op een monitor via HDMI-poort 2 en de audio-uitvoer testen in HD Station.
• QTS 5.0.0 ondersteunt geen x63U-modellen. We zullen ondersteuning voor deze modellen toevoegen in komende releases.
• Nadat gebruikers de naam van een gedeelde map hebben gewijzigd, geeft QuLog Center nog steeds de oorspronkelijke mapnaam weer in Toegang tot bronnen.

Overige wijzigingen

Hulpprogramma voor SSD-profilering

• QTS installeert Hulpprogramma voor SSD-profilering niet langer standaard vooraf. Gebruikers kunnen deze tool installeren in het App Center.

Configuratiescherm

• SQL Server vervangen door MariaDB 5/MariaDB 10, die kan worden geïnstalleerd in het App Center.
• iSCSI-service verwijderd uit Serviceverbinding in Configuratiescherm. Gebruikers kunnen nu iSCSI-servicebindingsinstellingen configureren in iSCSI & Fibre Channel.

Qboost

• Qboost is niet langer een ingebouwde applicatie van QTS. Gebruikers kunnen ervoor kiezen om Qboost te installeren in App Center.

App Center

• Om de systeembeveiliging te garanderen, schakelt QTS nu automatisch applicaties uit die niet zijn bijgewerkt en die niet voldoen aan de minimale versievereisten.

QVR Pro-client en QVR Smart Client

U kunt QVR Pro Client op Windows of macOS blijven gebruiken als clientsoftware voor uw bewakingsservers om livebeelden te bekijken of opnames af te spelen.

NVR Opslag

• Vanaf Opslag 5.0.0 wordt NVR-opslaguitbreiding niet langer ondersteund.
