I have already tested many NAS devices with 1 or 2 bays, and I can say that this model has great advantages for the end user. Due to its characteristics, it would have a permanent place in our offices as a file server, print server, download station and as a "cradle" of running my virtual machines, both my production server (Exchange, SQL Server and Web Server) as the other VMs that I use for testing as often. For general use, the QNAP TS-459 can be used as a file server, print server, Web server, etc.. virtually any of the settings would be valid. As for sensitive use such as virtualization, it would be very helpful to make a new battery of tests, which unfortunately this time was not possible because the time. I also highlight that the 459 could support RAID 10 (or RAID 1 +0) which makes 2 hard drives from 4, one RAID 0 (stripping) with mirroring.
In the past we got to know QNAP Systems quite well, we tested some devices. Now got the device with Intel dual-core processor, Atom D510. The device looks like TS-439, but it has more Flash ROM 512 MB and 1 GB RAM DDR2 memory. QNAP says write and read speeds are about 95 MBps, in our test (CrystalDisk mark) we got 102 MBps for read and 87.3 MBps for write, what means about 20% faster than TS-439. The device is energy-saving, made with quality, it has many unique features and very fast.
TS-459 Pro and TS-559 Pro are with 1 GB of memory and makes a very professional impression. The performance of the both models are excellent and in our opinion, this is therefore a real winner in this test.

Architecture DOM et double système d'exploitation à sécurité intégrée Deux systèmes d'exploitation sont intégrés au DOM du Turbo NAS pour un démarrage du système alternativement sur l'un ou l'autre à chaque démarrage. Lorsqu'un système défaille, l'autre est utilisé pour le démarrage du NAS, et le système d'exploitation défaillant peut être récupéré à partir du système d'exploitation valable.
