Snapshot Instant Clone: Real-time data analysis without interrupting the main serve
Copy data management
After synchronizing data via SnapSync from a primary to a secondary NAS, you can further conduct Snapshot Instant Clone on the secondary NAS. This assists in copy data management and data analysis without interfering with production server operations and the primary data. Instant Clone is also useful for DevOps, such as app development, database testing, analysis, and reporting.
Windows Search Protocol (WSP) support for NAS shared folders
When NAS contents are indexed by Qsirch, you can perform full-text searches of shared folders on the QNAP NAS directly from Windows File Explorer.
Enhanced convenience
Windows® 10/ Windows Server® 2016 (or later) users can easily search NAS shared folders via Windows® when an SMB drive is mounted to the NAS. Install Qsirch on the NAS for indexing contents of the NAS, then enjoy full-text search and advanced search by time, type, or size for greater convenience. Tutorial

Delegated administration to boost management productivity and ensure data security

When an organization is growing, data backup requirements from different department becomes increasingly complicated for IT staff to handle. With delegated administration, IT staff can assign members with the Backup Operation role to manage backups of their own department’s folders and files. Every routine backup of each department can then be executed more easily and without requiring IT staff involvement.

Manage devices across multiple organizations
In Organization Center, organization owners (IT staff or managed service providers) can create more organizations for businesses, add devices to different organizations, and invite users to the organization as administrators to help manage devices in the organization. Owners can grant owner privileges to up to 200 administrators per organization.

Backup/restore NAS system configuration with greater flexibility
BEFORE
Back up system configuration:
A BIN file is generated and downloaded to your computer. The actual backup details are kept undisclosed.
Restore system configuration:
- Restore using the BIN file.
- The destination NAS must be the same model and have the same QuTS hero version as the backup NAS.
NOW
Back up system configuration:
- Backup content details, including system, network, and privilege settings, are provided.
- You can encrypt the backup file.
Restore system configuration:
- Perform selective restoration for specific items (such as permission settings, network configuration, and more).
- The destination NAS can be a different model and have different QuTS hero version than the backup NAS.
Keep track of installed apps
You can upload the list of apps installed on your NAS to myQNAPcloud. When replacing your device or managing multiple NAS, you can use this list to quickly install the same apps on other NAS, significantly saving you time.
More convenient AD domain login
By joining your QNAP NAS to the domain service, domain users can log in to the NAS using their domain accounts. QuTS hero h5.2 supports automatic matching of AD domain user accounts, eliminating the need to input the AD domain name again. Simply log in using a domain account to access the NAS.
