What is the difference between teams and channels in Mattermost?

A team can consists of several channels within itself, whereas a channel can be a group for a specific purpose. For example a team “Marketing” can have different channels for ‘social-media marketing’ , ‘newspapers’ and ‘radio’ or a team of “developers” can have different channels for ‘iOS developers’ and ‘Android developers’.
