• To improve system security, this release requires certificate validity fields to comply with the ITU-T X.690 encoding rules, including a complete seconds value. Most mainstream certificate tools and public certificate authorities already follow these rules, and thus most users will not be affected. However, certificates issued by internal enterprise certificate authorities or embedded in devices may not conform.

New Features

Web Initialization

• NAS models in the QAI series can now enable AI Mode during initialization. Once enabled, the system automatically installs AI-related packages, simplifies general home-use settings, and applies a dedicated AI NAS interface style, making the device ready for AI applications out of the box. Note: This option is only available on QAI series models and does not appear during initialization on other models.
• Added AI-guided storage configuration during system initialization. You can just describe your use case in plain language. AI will provide tailored setup recommendations without requiring specific technical knowledge of RAID.
• Modernized the system initialization experience with intuitive step-by-step guidance and a unified visual design, streamlining the setup process for a seamless, hassle-free onboarding experience from start to finish.

AI Services

• QuTS hero now introduces AI Service Center (AISC) as a centralized hub for managing and deploying AI models across NAS applications. AISC enables flexible resource allocation, supporting local hardware acceleration (CPU, iGPU, NPU, and discrete GPUs) as well as seamless integration with cloud AI services (OpenAI, Gemini, and Azure).

Search & AI

• Qsirch introduces an AI-powered semantic search mode, enabling you to describe and find files using conversational natural language instead of exact keywords or file names. (Note: This feature requires a QNAP NAS with a GPU featuring at least 16 GB VRAM and LLM Core 1.1.0 or later.)

AI Agent

• QuTS hero introduces QuAgent, an intelligent conversational AI assistant designed to assist with NAS management tasks through natural language dialogue. You can conveniently query system status, perform file operations, check backup tasks, and set up automated schedules simply by chatting with the agent.

Enhancement

Snapshot Manager

• Added support for token authentication for SnapSync jobs to ensure data security. Note that both NAS devices must support token authentication, otherwise some SnapSync features would not be available.
• Improved Snapshot Replica job settings by replacing “Timeout” with “Retry interval.” If a system timeout or request failure occurs, the system now retries the connection after the specified interval. The default retry interval is 300 seconds and can be configured between 1 and 3600 seconds.
• Added support for deleting Enterprise WORM shared folders and immutable snapshots via Secure Deletion with USB key verification.
• Storage Manager now stops you from deleting data when a shared folder or a storage pool contains WORM shared folders or immutable snapshots and provides relevant guidance.

Control Panel

• Added support for the Intel Arc B70 discrete graphics card on the Control Panel's Hardware Resource page. This support is only available on certain models (TS-X74, TVS-AIh1688ATX, QAI-h1290FX, TS-X77AX). Once the graphics card is installed, you can view the model, temperature, utilization, and memory usage directly. Note: QAI-h1290FX users must contact QNAP support to update the BIOS so that this feature can support the Intel graphics card.

Desktop & Login

• Improved the flow of QNAP Account login. If a QNAP Account is not yet linked to any local NAS account, the system now guides you through the setup process, instead of simply displaying an error message.
• Merged the "Recent Notifications" and "Notification Center" into a single notification icon on the Task Bar, simplifying navigation and decluttering the user interface.
• Refreshed the visual design across the login screen, desktop menus, task bar, and various pop-up windows, delivering a more intuitive, polished, and modern user experience.
• Simplified the default desktop layout for a cleaner look with key features prominently displayed. (Note: This change applies to new installations only. Existing desktop settings are not affected.)
• On the login screen and in the login information on the Desktop, QuTS hero now automatically enables PQC (post-quantum cryptography) and indicates a secure connection when the TLS version is set to 1.3 in Control Panel.

Dashboard

• Redesigned the Dashboard for a streamlined right-side panel that displays key metrics like system health, CPU/memory usage, storage capacity, and temperature. You can customize your layout by adding, removing, or resizing cards, with settings syncing seamlessly across desktop and mobile devices via QNAP Account.

Web Initialization

• Added an optional QNAP Account login step during initialization to link your device and account. You may skip this step without affecting the rest of setup. Once linked, you can remotely access and manage your NAS with your QNAP Account, making your remote access simpler and more secure.
• Added an optional storage configuration step during initialization. The system automatically determines and provides a default configuration based on the number and type of drives installed, showing you the drive count, RAID level, and available capacity before you confirm the settings. You can skip this step without affecting the rest of the installation.

Storage Manager

• Adjusted the lower limit of the ARC memory usage to ensure system stability.

• Om de systeembeveiliging te verbeteren, vereist deze release dat de velden voor certificaatvaliditeit voldoen aan de ITU-T X.690-coderingsregels, inclusief een volledige secondenwaarde. De meeste gangbare certificeringstools en openbare certificeringsinstanties volgen deze regels al, waardoor de meeste gebruikers hier geen hinder van zullen ondervinden. Certificaten die zijn uitgegeven door interne certificeringsinstanties van bedrijven of die in apparaten zijn ingebed, voldoen mogelijk echter niet aan deze regels.

Nieuwe functies

Webinitialisatie

• NAS-modellen uit de QAI-serie kunnen nu tijdens de initialisatie de AI-modus inschakelen. Na inschakeling installeert het systeem automatisch AI-gerelateerde pakketten, vereenvoudigt het de algemene instellingen voor thuisgebruik en past het een speciale AI NAS-interface toe, waardoor het apparaat direct klaar is voor AI-toepassingen. Let op: deze optie is alleen beschikbaar op modellen uit de QAI-serie en verschijnt niet tijdens de initialisatie op andere modellen.
• Er is nu AI-gestuurde opslagconfiguratie beschikbaar tijdens de systeeminitialisatie. U kunt uw gebruiksscenario eenvoudig in begrijpelijke taal beschrijven. De AI geeft vervolgens op maat gemaakte configuratieaanbevelingen, zonder dat specifieke technische kennis van RAID vereist is.
• De systeeminitialisatie is gemoderniseerd met intuïtieve stapsgewijze begeleiding en een uniform visueel ontwerp, waardoor het installatieproces is gestroomlijnd voor een naadloze en probleemloze onboarding-ervaring van begin tot eind.

AI-diensten

• QuTS hero introduceert nu AI Service Center (AISC) als een gecentraliseerde hub voor het beheren en implementeren van AI-modellen in NAS-applicaties. AISC maakt flexibele toewijzing van resources mogelijk en ondersteunt lokale hardwareversnelling (CPU, iGPU, NPU en discrete GPU's), evenals naadloze integratie met cloud-AI-services (OpenAI, Gemini en Azure).

Zoeken & AI

• Qsirch introduceert een AI-gestuurde semantische zoekmodus, waarmee u bestanden kunt beschrijven en vinden met behulp van natuurlijke taal in plaats van exacte trefwoorden of bestandsnamen. (Let op: voor deze functie is een QNAP NAS met een GPU met minimaal 16 GB VRAM en LLM Core 1.1.0 of nieuwer vereist.)

AI-agent

• QuTS hero introduceert QuAgent, een intelligente AI-assistent die via natuurlijke taal kan communiceren en zo helpt bij NAS-beheertaken. U kunt eenvoudig de systeemstatus opvragen, bestandsbewerkingen uitvoeren, back-uptaken controleren en geautomatiseerde schema's instellen door met de assistent te chatten.

Verbetering

Snapshot Manager

• Ondersteuning voor tokenauthenticatie is toegevoegd voor SnapSync-taken om de gegevensbeveiliging te waarborgen. Houd er rekening mee dat beide NAS-apparaten tokenauthenticatie moeten ondersteunen, anders zijn sommige SnapSync-functies niet beschikbaar.
• De instellingen voor Snapshot Replica taken zijn verbeterd door 'Time-out' te vervangen door 'Herhaalinterval'. Als er een systeemtime-out of een aanvraagfout optreedt, probeert het systeem de verbinding nu na het opgegeven interval opnieuw tot stand te brengen. Het standaardherhaalinterval is 300 seconden en kan worden geconfigureerd tussen 1 en 3600 seconden.
• Er is ondersteuning toegevoegd voor het verwijderen van gedeelde Enterprise WORM-mappen en onveranderlijke snapshots via beveiligde verwijdering met verificatie via USB-sleutel.
• Opslag voorkomt nu dat u gegevens verwijdert wanneer een gedeelde map of een opslagpool WORM-gedeelde mappen of onveranderlijke momentopnamen bevat en geeft relevante instructies.

Configuratiescherm

• Ondersteuning voor de Intel Arc B70 dedicated grafische kaart is toegevoegd aan de pagina 'Hardware' in het Configuratiescherm. Deze ondersteuning is alleen beschikbaar voor bepaalde modellen (TS-X74, TVS-AIh1688ATX, QAI-h1290FX, TS-X77AX). Nadat de grafische kaart is geïnstalleerd, kunt u direct het model, de temperatuur, het gebruik en het geheugengebruik bekijken. Opmerking: Gebruikers van de QAI-h1290FX moeten contact opnemen met de QNAP-ondersteuning om de BIOS bij te werken, zodat deze functie de Intel grafische kaart kan ondersteunen.

Desktop en inloggen

• Het inlogproces voor QNAP-accounts is verbeterd. Als een QNAP-account nog niet is gekoppeld aan een lokaal NAS-account, begeleidt het systeem u nu door het installatieproces in plaats van alleen een foutmelding weer te geven.
• De pictogrammen "Recente meldingen" en "Meldingencentrum" zijn samengevoegd tot één meldingspictogram op de taakbalk, waardoor de navigatie is vereenvoudigd en de gebruikersinterface overzichtelijker is geworden.
• Het visuele ontwerp van het inlogscherm, de bureaubladmenu's, de taakbalk en diverse pop-upvensters is vernieuwd, wat resulteert in een intuïtievere, verfijndere en modernere gebruikerservaring.
• De standaard bureaubladindeling is vereenvoudigd voor een overzichtelijker uiterlijk, waarbij de belangrijkste functies prominent worden weergegeven. (Let op: deze wijziging geldt alleen voor nieuwe installaties. Bestaande bureaubladinstellingen worden niet beïnvloed.)
• Op het inlogscherm en in de inloggegevens op het bureaublad schakelt QuTS hero nu automatisch PQC (post-quantum cryptography) in en geeft een beveiligde verbinding aan wanneer de TLS-versie in het Configuratiescherm is ingesteld op 1.3.

Dashboard

• Het dashboard is opnieuw ontworpen met een gestroomlijnd rechterpaneel dat belangrijke statistieken weergeeft, zoals de systeemstatus, CPU-/geheugengebruik, opslagcapaciteit en temperatuur. U kunt de lay-out aanpassen door kaarten toe te voegen, te verwijderen of de grootte ervan te wijzigen. De instellingen worden naadloos gesynchroniseerd tussen desktop- en mobiele apparaten via uw QNAP-account.

Webinitialisatie

• Er is een optionele inlogstap met een QNAP-account toegevoegd tijdens de initialisatie om uw apparaat en account te koppelen. U kunt deze stap overslaan zonder dat dit de rest van de installatie beïnvloedt. Zodra de koppeling tot stand is gebracht, kunt u uw NAS op afstand benaderen en beheren met uw QNAP-account, waardoor toegang op afstand eenvoudiger en veiliger wordt.
• Er is een optionele stap voor opslagconfiguratie toegevoegd tijdens de initialisatie. Het systeem bepaalt automatisch een standaardconfiguratie op basis van het aantal en type geïnstalleerde schijven en toont het aantal schijven, het RAID-niveau en de beschikbare capaciteit voordat u de instellingen bevestigt. U kunt deze stap overslaan zonder dat dit de rest van de installatie beïnvloedt.

Opslag

• De ondergrens voor het ARC-geheugengebruik is aangepast om de systeemstabiliteit te waarborgen.
