How can I configure the same IP address on all the LAN ports in a QHora router?
Applicable Products
- QHora-301W
- QHora-321
- QHora-322
Scenario
The QHora series are equipped with the SD-WAN service, QuWAN, which makes the WAN and LAN port configuration slightly more unconventional compared to other routers. By default, there is one WAN port and the rest are configured as LAN ports.
Each LAN port is configured to have its own IP address and subnet range. For example, LAN port 2 can have 192.168.100.1 its IP address, and LAN port 3 can have 192.168.101.1 as its IP address.
You can, however, configure all the LAN ports to have the same IP address by configuring the bridge settings.
Procedure
- Log into QuRouter.
- Go to Network > Bridge Settings.
- Click Add Bridge.
- Enter a description for the interface.
- Specify an MTU value between 576 and 9000.
- Select one or more available interfaces from the list.
- Click
.
- Configure the Ipv4 address assignment settings.
Setting User Action Fixed IP address Specify a fixed IP address. Subnet mask Specify the subnet mask used to subdivide your IP address. Enable Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) Enable to prevent network loops. Enable DHCP server Configure the DHCP server settings. - Start IP address: Specify the starting IP address in a range allocated to DHCP clients.
- End IP address: Specify the ending IP address in a range allocated to DHCP clients.
- Lease time: Specify the length of time that an IP address is reserved for a DHCP client. The IP address is made available to other clients when the lease expires.
- Configure the DNS server settings:
- Use the fixed IP address: Select to use the same IP address assigned for the fixed IP address.
- Manually: Manually configure the DNS server IP addresses.
Reserve IP table - Click Add to configure a reserved IP table.
- Specify the following:
- Device name
- IP address
- MAC address
- Click
.
- Configure the IPv6 address assignment settings.
- Click IPv6.
- Click Enable IPv6.
- Select the outgoing WAN interface from the drop-down list.
- Specify the IPv6 IP address prefix.
- Select the prefix length from the drop-down list.
- Select the interface identifier to identify interfaces on a link.
Setting User Action Interface identifier Select from the following: - EUI-64: Select Extended Unique Identifier (EUI-64) to configure the IPv6 host address automatically.
- Manually: Specify an interface ID to configure the IPv6 host address.
- Assign a client IPv6 addressing mode from the drop-down list.
Setting Description IPv6 addressing mode Select from the following: - Stateful: The stateful DHCPv6 or managed mode enables you to assign a unique IPv6 address to each client manually.
- Stateless: The stateless DHCPv6 mode enables users to enter additional IPv6 information including the lease time, but automatically assigns a unique IPv6 address to each client.
- SLAAC+RDNSS: Stateless Address Auto-Configuration (SLAAC) along with Recursive DNS Server (RDNSS) enables users to manually assign an IP address based on the IPv6 prefix and uses recursive queries to resolve the domain name.
- Disabled: Disables IPv6 client addressing.
NoteTo undo the bridge settings, go to Network > Bridge, and click
.
NoteMake sure that QuRouter is accessible before removing the bridge settings on the LAN port by following the below steps:
- Connect a computer to LAN port 2 on the router. Other LAN ports are disabled.
- Go to System > Access Control > Access Control Settings.
- Enable Remote management.
- Click Enable Remote management, to access the router using the WAN IP address.
- Go to NAT/Firewall > Firewall Rule and delete all firewall rules.
