Why does the NAS with add-on Adapter lose network connection if built-in Adapter is disconnected?

Last modified date: 2022-06-24

Applied Products:

  • All NAS Series

  • All QTS Firmware Versions

Scenario:

Why does the NAS, with built-in Adapter 1 and with add-on network card Adapter 2 (QXG-2G1T-I225 2.5GbE), lose network connection if the built-in Adapter 1 is disconnected? This may happen if QuFirewall is installed in the NAS.

Solution:

When Qufirewall is installed in the NAS, the QuFirewall will automatically create some Allow rules for the available interface (such as the built-in Adapter 1).

If an add-on network card (such as QXG-2G1T-I225 2.5GbE Adapter 2) is installed in the NAS, you need to manually set up an Allow rule for the add-on Adapter in QuFirewall.
