How can I expand the Storage Pool/Static Volume by replacing the disks with larger capacity drives?(QTS 4.4.3 or later)

Important: This article explains how to expand the Storage Pool or Static Volume by replacing the disks on the NAS models listed above. Before continuing, make sure the replacement hard disks are listed on the harddisk compatibility list for your NAS model,the final capacity would be based on the smallest capacity drive in the RAID. Your data is still accessible while running the Storage Pool/Static Volume expansion process. For details, see here.
This process is only supported on the following RAID types: RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 6, RAID 10.
- Go to Storage & Snapshots > Storage > Storage/snapshots
. - Double click a storage pool. The Storage Pool Management page opens.
- Select a RAID group.
- Click Manage > Replace Disks One by One
. - Select one or more hard disk drives.
- Click Change.
- When the description changes to Please remove this drive, remove the drive from the NAS or expansion enclosure.
- Wait for RAID rebuilding to complete
- When the description changes to You can replace this drive, insert the new drive into the drive slot.
- Repeat steps 6-7 for all drives being replaced.
- Once all drives are replaced and completed rebuilding, click Expand Capacity to continue. A confirmation window opens.
- Click Yes
The system expands the selected RAID group.
