Joomla! is a free-to-use Content Management System (CMS) that is used by countless businesses, organizations and individuals across the world to quickly create and manage websites. With the Joomla! QPKG for Turbo NAS, users can easily set up a website or blog without the need for extra hosting.
QNAP Turbo NAS features an integrated web server and phpMyAdmin to run the Joomla! CMS. phpMyAdmin allows users to manage MySQL databases and no complicated HTML code or web design knowledge is required to build a Joomla! website. Please refer to the step-by-step guide below for the first time Joomla! Installation.
Activate the web server and the MySQL database server
To activate the web server, log in as the administrator and go to "Control Panel" > "Applications". Tick the checkbox "Enable Web server" and select "Apply".

To enable the MySQL server to store your database, go to "Control Panel" > "Applications" > "MySQL Server" and tick both "Enable MySQL Server" and "Enable TCP/IP Networking" checkboxes then select "Apply".

Download and install the Joomla QPKG
As both the web server and MySQL database server are active, install the Joomla! App by going to the QTS App Center. Search for "Joomla" and click "Add to QTS(+)".

Follow the Joomla step-by-step installation guide
When installing Joomla! you will be prompted to choose your preferred language. Select "Next" to continue.

The pre-installation check should return "Yes" on all the settings required so simply select "Next" to continue. Please note that the "Display Error" may be "On", but it will not affect the installation or site operation.

You will need to accept the terms of the Joomla! license before proceeding.

On the "Database Configuration" page, under "Basic Settings" enter the information of your MySQL server (the default user name and password for MySQL is root/admin, and we strongly recommend that you change it using phpMyAdmin.)

The FTP Configuration is optional, so you can choose to configure the settings or just select Next to continue. (Please note that the FTP user account is the same as the Turbo NAS system, so the default admin account password is admin. We strongly recommend that you change this immediately.)

Enter the name of your website, contact details and enter a username and password for the admin account. You can also install a Sample Data set to provide a pre-made template for your website.

In order to complete the installation, please delete the installation folder inside the Joomla! root directory.

If you have previously mounted the Qweb shared directory in the Windows please go to the directory where you just installed your Joomla!. Please delete the installation directory before you can start using Joomla!.
To access your new Joomla site, go to http://NAS-IP-Address/Joomla/

To administrate your Joomla! site, go to http://NAS-IP-Address/Joomla/administrator/ and enter the username and password of the admin account you setup during installation. After logging in, you will be taken to the control panel.
