Explanation

Creating an encryption key for your personal vault is a straightforward process designed to enhance security. When you first access your personal vault, you'll be prompted to generate your encryption key. You have the option to either create your own key or utilize a randomly generated one provided by the system.

It's important to note that the encryption key must meet the following requirements:

  • must be between 8 and 256 characters in length
  • must contain both uppercase and lowercase letters
  • must contain at least one number
  • cannot be identical to your QNAP ID (QID)

These requirements ensure the strength and effectiveness of your encryption key, thereby enhancing the security of your personal vault and its contents.
