High performance
The TS-470U-RP features an Intel® Celeron® dual-core 2.7GHz processor, 2GB DDR3 memory (expandable to max 16GB), 4 x Gigabit LAN ports, and SATA 6Gb/s support. Even the most demanding requirements in data centers or corporate networks can be satisfied by the TS-470U-RP. With high memory expansion and outstanding data transfer rates of up to 440MB/s data throughput and 135,000 IOPS*, performance-intensive business applications and concurrent tasks can be easily fulfilled.

High efficiency with four LAN support
The TS-470U-RP supports multiple port-trunking modes, enabling IT administrators to set up link aggregation to increase total data transmission capability. Failover is also supported to ensure continuous system operations. The supported port-trunking modes include: Balance-rr (Round-Robin), Active Backup, Balance XOR, Broadcast, IEEE 802.3ad, Balance-tlb (Adaptive Transmit Load Balancing) and Balance-alb (Adaptive Load Balancing).
Storage that scales with your needs
As your business grows, so will your data. TS-470U-RP supports online capacity expansion by connecting up to two QNAP expansion enclosures. With the QNAP scale-up solution, terabytes of raw capacity can be added, making it especially useful and economical for large data applications, such as video surveillance, data archiving, and TV broadcast storage.

The TS-470U-RP features the easy-to-use QTS operating system, providing a user-friendly web GUI that allows administrators to effortlessly manage the NAS. Intuitive management tools such as instant SMS/Email alert, hard drive S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology), and system resource monitors are provided to keep administrators up-to-date on their NAS at all times.

Quickly and easily find documents, photos, videos, and music with Qsirch, QNAP’s new built-in NAS search application lets you find what you need by real-time, natural search. Simply type in as much as you know about what you are trying to find, including bits of the file name or even words/phrases in the document, and Qsirch will display a list of matches, complete with thumbnails, as you type. Qsirch even remembers your search history so you can quickly navigate to files you’ve previously searched for. Qsirch is a huge productivity boost – it greatly reduces the amount of time spent looking for files on the NAS so you can focus on other tasks.

With the support for Intel® Virtualization Technology (VT-x), the TS-470U-RP can operate the Virtualization Station, transforming the TS-470U-RP into a 2-in-a-box NAS that can function as an all-in-one NAS and a virtualization platform that supports multiple operating systems, fast virtual machine (VM) creation, VM import/export, snapshot, and enables desktop operations on web browsers. With the easy-to-use interface, you can centrally manage all of the VMs created on the TS-470U-RP with minimal effort. You can also download VMs on demand from online VM markets and import them to the TS-470U-RP without any complex procedures.
Note: Pre-installed with 2GB RAM x1. You can upgrade the RAM to 4GB or more to run the Virtualization Station with multiple virtual machines.

Full NAS encryption technology ensures data security
QNAP’s full NAS encryption by volume-based technology effectively ensures data security by encrypting all the files stored in the default shared folders on the TS-470U-RP.Even if the TS-470U-RP is encrypted, all the files can still be accessible via Windows SMB/CIFS, iSCSI, and NFS protocols. Users without permission to access the TS-470U-RP will not be able to access the stored files, hence data security risks and privacy leak can be avoided.

High reliability
The TS-470U-RP supports comprehensive RAID configuration and hot-swapping to allow hard drive replacement without system interruption. QNAP’s advanced RAID recovery technology also helps if any healthy drives are removed from a degraded RAID volume by mistake. The system can be recovered to degraded mode by reinserting the wrongly removed hard drives so the data can still be accessible. The Global Hot Spare function also enables the global hot-spare drive to automatically replace a failed drive in a RAID volume, preventing data from being lost.

RTRR (Real-Time Remote Replication) supports real time and scheduled data backup to remote Turbo NAS or FTP servers and synchronizes files to remote folders from local folders with better backup efficiency and reduced backup time. The TS-470U-RP also supports rsync protocol to back up data to remote servers on a scheduled basis. Data can also be backed up to and restored from a range of cloud storage services, including Amazon® S3, Amazon Glacier, Microsoft® Azure, ElephantDrive®, Dropbox® and Google Cloud Storage.
