Why I am not able to install Windows 11 version 24H2 in Virtualization Station?

Root Cause

On AMD-based systems, the default emulated CPU model currently available in Virtualization Station may not meet the updated hardware requirements introduced in Windows 11 2024 H2. This can affect the creation or operation of Windows 11 VMs due to missing required CPU features.

Solution

  1. Set the CPU model to “Passthrough” when creating a VM. This allows the VM to directly use the host’s physical CPU, ensuring better compatibility with Windows 11 2024 H2.

  2. If “Passthrough” still doesn’t work, check whether your host CPU is listed in Microsoft’s supported AMD processors list for Windows 11 2024 H2.

  3. If your CPU is not supported, consider installing an earlier version of Windows version (22/23 H2) that is compatible with your hardware.

  4. Future improvement: In the next release of Virtualization Station, we plan to introduce an automatic detection mechanism that checks the host CPU's compatibility and selects an appropriate emulated CPU model to enhance Windows 11 support.
