How can I tell if my NAS is experiencing hardware failure?

During normal operations the NAS beeps during the start up process. This beep indicates a successful POST( Power-On Self-Test) and can't be disabled. If no beep sounds, the NAS has experienced a hardware failure and will need to be repaired.

  • If the NAS is under warranty, contact the reseller or distributor directly for the RMA process.
  • If the NAS has other symptoms or if the NAS is out-of-warranty, contact QNAP support for further assistance.
  • If the NAS is an EOL model, consider purchasing a newer device and migrating your data.
