How many licenses should I prepare to use QVR Center?
Overview
QVR Center provides centralized management for multiple QVR Pro and QVR Elite services with different models of licenses. This document describes how QVR Center calculates the licenses, and provides a case example.
Applicable Products
QVR Center 2.0.0 or later versions
Resolution
QVR Center has a built-in license that allows users to manage up to two (2) QVR Pro and/or QVR Elite servers.
Users can subscribe licenses to add additional servers in QVR Center from our software store with 1-month, 1-year, or 3-year plans per seat (server).
Exceptions
Adding QNAP surveillance services that fulfill below conditions will not require additional licenses:
- QVR Pro with Gold license
- QVR Pro on QVR Pro Appliances (QVP)
- Surveillance Station 5.1.5 on the NASNoteSurveillance station has been announced to reach end of service. Refer to our Lifecycle Policy of Surveillance Station for more information.
- VS-series (VioStor) surveillance model with firmware version 5.1.5.
Case Example
A company owns the devices listed below, and wants to manage all of them in QVR Center:

In this case, as QVR Pro with Gold license and Surveillance Station do not occupy seats, QVR Center will only check the amount of QVR Pro and Elite, which account for a total of 3 seats.
Since QVR Center provides 2 built-in licenses, the company only has to purchase and subscribe to 1 additional license to manage all of the above servers.
