DNS settings for QNAP Domain controller

If you are used to working with Microsoft Active Directory, you may think you have to define the Domain Controller DNS IP as 127.0.0.1 and forward it on to the local DNS server. This setting will not work on QNAP Domain controllers. If the Domain DNS IP is set as 127.0.0.1 in the Domain Controller on the NAS, the Domain Controller will not be able to resolve the Internet pages.

In QNAP Domain Controllers, it is not necessary to use localhost as DNS. You can use any other DNS server in your local network or external network.
