QVR Pro Client & QVR Smart Client System Requirements
Applicable Products
- QVR Pro Client
- QVR Smart Client
QVR Pro Client/QVR Smart Client is a client software of QVR Pro server that can view images of QVR Pro, QVR Center, and QVR Elite.
QVR Pro Client is available for Windows andmacOS and QVR Smart Client is available for QNAP HDMI™ Display.
Attaining smooth performance when using QVR Pro Client or QVR Smart Client relies on the hardware and software capabilities of the Windows, macOS or QNAP device you are using.
This document presents the test results of recommended hardware specifications and how many channels they can support at what resolution and framerate.

* No Recording - The QNAP HDMI™ Display only runs QVR Smart Client and its dependent HD Station, without installing other applications that consume more hardware resources (for example: without installing QVR Pro Server)
* Recording - The QNAP HDMI™ Display with 16 channels (CH)recording at the same time only runs with QVR Pro Server-recording 16CH, QVR Smart Client and its dependent HD Station, without installing other applications that consume more hardware resources.
The test method of this article
- Use the hardware of each platform to connect to QVR Pro. Under the condition that the normal load of the CPU or GPU is less than 80%, play the specified stream and calculate the maximum number of playable channels.
- The type of camera used during these tests was the VIVOTEK IP9167-HT. The Group of Pictures (GOP) setting was 30.
- In practice, the bitrate setting, streaming format, and overall available network bandwidth of each IP camera may affect the actual playback and display performance. The test results in this article are for reference only.
