When installing QNAP External RAID Manager in macOS I see the message “System Extension Blocked”. How can I resolve this issue?

macOS High Sierra 10.13 includes a new security feature that requires user approval before loading third-party kernel extensions (kexts). Installing QNAP External RAID Manager may be blocked with the following message:


 
To resolve this issue:

  1. After seeing the “System Extension Blocked” message, go to “Apple Menu” > “System Preferences” > “Security & Privacy” > “General”.
    Tip: In macOS version 10.13.6 or later, click “Open Security Preferences” in the “System Extension Blocked” message window.
  2. If the “Security & Privacy” settings are locked, click the lock icon  and then enter the macOS administrator password.
  3. Click “Allow”.
  4. Restart macOS.

You can now install QNAP External RAID Manager.
