Why can’t I use the Windows 7 File Recovery tool to back up the Windows OS to the NAS?

To use the Windows 7 File Recovery tool in Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows server 2008 (R2), or Windows server 2012 (R2), please change the SMB version to 2.0. Please follow the steps below:

Log into the NAS and go to “Control Panel” > “Network Services” > “Win/Mac/NFS” > “Microsoft Networking” > “Advanced Options”.
Select “SMB 2.0” from the Highest SMB version drop-down list.
Click “Apply”.
