- NAS migration
If the snapshot function doesn't appear in Storage & Snapshots after NAS migration, the reason could be one of the followings:
- The source NAS is a legacy model that doesn't support LVM structure. In this case, you will see the legacy volume appears in Storage&Snapshots.
- The source NAS was using static volumes.
- The storage pool was created on an old version of QTS which snapshots function wasn't implemented. (For example: Storage pool created on TS-x79, TS-x80)
- The storage pool was created on a NAS model which can't support snapshot due to hardware limitation. (For example: Storage pool created o from TS-x69, TS-x31.)
Follow the steps below to recreate the storage pool and enjoy snapshot function on the new NAS.
- Backup the files to an external drive.
- Remove the legacy/static volume or the storage pool.
- Create new storage pool and volumes.
