Thumbnails Generation
The following reasons may cause that thumbnails fail to generate.
It is possible that the codec necessary to read the media file is not available, in this case, make sure you have the CAYIN MediaSign Player installed in your NAS in the App Center, and activate the Basic license (free), it will allow the Multimedia Console to read a greater variety of media files.More details about the supported format for the free and paid licenses can be found in the below link: CAYIN MediaSign Player
The resolution (Width x Height) of picture is too large and the memory size of NAS is too small to process. Following are the limitations that Multimedia Console will not perform thumbnail generation.
- WxH > 500,000,000 pixels
- WxH > 240,000,000 pixels & memory < 2048
- WxH > 51,000,000 pixels & memory <= 1024
- The file size of the picture >= 1/8 memory size
- TAS file > 60MB
For example:
The resolution of the sample picture is 9248 x 6936, (64,144,128 pixels) and the NAS has 1G memory.
Multimedia Console doesn't generate thumbnails for this picture since rule 3.
Note: Although thumbnail fails to generate, the original picture still can be browsed and opened.
