What to do if my disk is not on the NAS compatibility list?

Last modified date: 2022-06-24

Applied models:

  • All NAS Series

Applied Firmware:

  • All QTS Firmware Versions

If the drives used in the NAS are not listed on the NAS model’s compatibility list, this may affect the NAS system stability, performance, or disk becoming undetected intermittently. Thus it is highly recommended to use drives that are confirmed compatible with the NAS model.

If you already have drives in your NAS that are not listed as compatible, it is recommended to backup your data first, replace the old drives with the compatible drives, then recreate a new RAID and restore the data from the backup.
