Security Updates

  • Applied multiple security updates to further enhance system security.

Enhancement

SSH
  • Improved SSH connectivity and added support for additional encryption algorithms such as ECDSA and ED25519. To give users more transition time, we have also temporarily reinstated support for umac-64@openssh.com and hmac-sha1; however, we highly recommend users to switch to other algorithms as soon as possible to ensure greater security.

Fixed Issues

  • Resolved an issue on certain NAS models with HDMI ports where some users could not start HybridDesk Station properly after a firmware update.
  • Fixed an issue on certain NAS models where users were able to configure USB One Touch Copy in HBS even though the NAS did not have a USB One Touch Copy button.
  • Improved the folder permission mechanism for domain users.
  • Resolved a rare issue where under certain circumstances expanding a storage pool by adding a disk would fail without explanation.
  • Improved the IP access protection mechanism.
  • Resolved an issue in File Station where after navigating between the pages of a search result, sometimes the page number at the bottom did not correctly correspond with the files displayed on the page.
  • Resolved an issue where under certain circumstances the system would incorrectly log drive error messages for an SES device on a JBOD enclosure.
  • Fixed an issue on certain NAS models where "System Status > Hardware Information" might incorrectly indicate that a healthy redundant power supply unit had failed.
  • Fixed an issue on the TS-h2483XU-RP where the system might stop responding after replacing a disk to rebuild a RAID group.
  • Fixed an issue in File Station where under certain conditions a user could not delete and move a file to the recycle bin from a search result.
  • Fixed an issue in HBS where some users could not successfully run a backup job to a cloud storage space after a firmware update.
  • Resolved an issue where Helpdesk sometimes could not generate a support ticket if the log size was too large, even when users selected "I am allowing QNAP support to access my system logs" instead of uploading a file.
  • Addressed an issue where when creating a new user in Control Panel, the email message for the setting "Send a notification email to the newly created user" would contain some characters in Traditional Chinese even though the system language was set to Simplified Chinese.
  • The system now alerts users that they cannot use a system reserved name when trying to create a new folder.
  • Fixed an issue in QuLog Center where the "Local Device > Access Log" page did not correctly display the source IP address when a user logged in via SSH.
  • Fixed an issue where users could not open QVPN Service under certain circumstances.
  • Resolved an issue where LDAP users could not change their own passwords.
  • Fixed an issue where the system would take a long time to respond when users ran the "ls -l" command via SSH for the first time in a shared folder that was mounted via NFSv3.
  • Fixed an issue where non-root users could not access their home folder on the NAS via SSH.
  • Fixed an issue where after failing to move files from an external drive to a shared folder due to lack of free space, the files might be deleted from the external drive.
  • Fixed an issue for some users where after installing certain memory modules that were not on the compatibility list, the desktop screen would be stuck on "Loading..." after login.
  • Resolved an issue on the TVS-h874 where Network & Virtual Switch did not correctly display the active ports on a QM2-2P410G2T expansion card.
  • Resolved an issue in File Station where share links that were set to "Always Valid" sometimes became invalid after several days.
  • Fixed an issue in HBS where some users could not create a storage space with a CentOS rsync server, and the "Test Connection" and "Speed Test" functions would unexpectedly return a "Permission denied" message.
  • Resolved an issue where under certain circumstances some users could not access a folder in File Station even though they had the permissions and could access the folder via a network protocol.
  • Resolved an issue for some users where after performing NAS migration under certain conditions, storage pools from the old NAS would display an "Error" status on the new NAS.
  • Fixed an issue where non-administrator users could not delete WORM files that were no longer in their retention period via an FTP client.
  • Fixed an issue where if a shared folder's name contained certain special characters, the system would fail to record a corresponding log when the shared folder was accessed via Samba.
  • Fixed an issue for some users where Control Panel could not display domain users in "Privilege > Users".
  • Improved system responsiveness when the NAS is accessed via SMB or a web browser.
  • Resolved a rare issue where under certain conditions a user might experience regular iSCSI disconnections and high latency between their NAS and a remote server.
