Why am I unable to update the firmware of the network expansion card?

Overview

After updating the OS to QTS 5.0.0 or QuTS hero 5.0.0, the system will ask you to update the network expansion card firmware if the aforementioned cards are installed on the device.

If you are unable to update the firmware of the network expansion card, follow the below instructions.

Prerequisites

  • Updating the network expansion card requires a stable network connection
  • Make sure that you do not access the NAS using the network interface that requires the firmware update.

Instructions

Follow the on-screen instructions to update the firmware.

  1. Update the device to QTS 5.0.x or QuTS hero 5.0.x. For details, see the Firmware Update chapter in the QTS 5.0.x or QuTS hero 5.0.x User Guide.
  2. Log in to the device as an administrator.
  3. Open Network & Virtual Switch.
  4. Click Update.
  5. When prompted, restart the device.
    Note
    • Network expansion cards with the suffix “-“ requires two restarts to complete the update process.
    • Network expansion cards with the suffix “-CX-“ only requires one restart to complete the update process.
  6. Log in to the device as an administrator.
  7. Open Network & Virtual Switch.
  8. Click OK on the confirmation message.
