Why can't I update the Network Expansion Card firmware?

Upgrading a QNAP 10GbE Network Expansion Card requires a stable connection that doesn't interrupt the firmware upgrading, this means the original QNAP 10GbE Network Expansion Card can't be used for accessing the NAS while upgrading progress.

To workaround this, access the NAS through another built-in 1GbE Network Port then upgrade the Network Expansion Card firmware.

Upgrading the firmware through the network interface on the 1GbE network port, Network & Virtual Switch prompts the following message, click Update to proceed firmware upgrading:

Network Expansion Card Firmware Update :
Need to update the Network Expansion Card: Adapter 5, Adapter 6 firmware to 1.0.2.120 to ensure all the features can work normally. After updating the firmware, the NAS will need to restart for the function to take effect. It takes about 10 minutes to update one Network Expansion Card.

If you attempt to upgrade the firmware through the network interface on the original 10GbE Network Expansion Card, Network & Virtual Switch prompts the following message and the upgrading process stops:

Network Expansion Card Firmware Update Reminder:
Update the firmware to 26.30.1004 on the following network expansion cards: QXC-25G2SF- CX6LX. To update the listed network expansion cards, ensure that you are accessing the NAS with a network expansion care that does not require firmware update.
