Root Cause

In Hybrid Backup Sync (HBS), if you encounter an error containing the words "truncated on receiver" in a sync job, this usually means that the source file has an invalid timestamp (for example, the modified date is in the future).

Solution

To fix this problem, you can update the timestamps on the affected files by following these steps:

  1. Identify the affected files.
    1. Open HBS 3.
    2. Go to Jobs.
    3. Identify the sync job.
    4. Under Action, click the Report icon.
      The Report window opens.
    5. Click Logs.
    6. Find the messages that contain the words "truncated on receiver".
    7. Note down the file names and their locations.
  2. Update the timestamps of the affected files.
    1. Locate the files in File Station.
    2. Verify that the modified dates are irregular.
    3. Rename or modify the files.
File Station updates the modified dates according to the system time on the NAS.
    4. Verify the new timestamps are normal.

You can now run the sync job again.
