QNAP Launches Next-Generation 10GbE and 2.5GbE SD-WAN QHora Routers, Providing a Secure Networking Experience for NAS and IoT Environments

Taipei, Taiwan, October 19, 2022 – QNAP® Systems, Inc., a leading computing, networking, and storage solution innovator, today added two new members to the QHora router product lineup – the QHora-322 and the QHora-321 – to provide an ultimate high-speed wired networking performance. As next-generation SD-WAN routers, both models provide enterprise-grade Mesh VPN networking and wired connectivity. For businesses and personal users to build a secure networking experience and independent network segments for NAS and IoT environments, it is highly recommended to connect the QHora router in front of a NAS or IoT device (of any brand) to secure remote access and backup via VPN.
With an enterprise-grade quad-core processor, the QHora-322 provides three 10GbE ports and six 2.5GbE ports while the QHora-321 provides six 2.5GbE ports. Both QHora models offer flexible WAN/LAN configurations for optimized network deployment, achieving high-speed LAN, streamlined cross-site file transfer, independent operation of multiple segments, and auto mesh multi-site VPN. Furthermore, both QHora models enable interconnected Mesh VPN topology via QuWAN (QNAP’s SD-WAN technology), providing reliable network infrastructure for prioritized network bandwidth, automatic WAN failover and centralized cloud management.
“Data security is a primary concern for organizations and personal users. To secure remote access and prevent potential attacks, it is highly recommended to connect the QHora router in front of your NAS device for remote access scenarios. With additional features such as the firewall and SD-WAN-provided IPsec VPN, QHora routers deliver a secure networking experience, and effectively reduces potential threats of data loss from malware and ransomware,” said Frank Liao, Product Manager of QNAP.
QHora routers use the QuRouter OS, providing a user-friendly web-based GUI to assist in everyday network management tasks. The QHora-322 and QHora-321 both feature cutting-edge network security techniques, emphasizing access security between enterprise VPN and edge connections. Features including website filtering, VPN server, VPN client, firewalls, port forwarding, and access controls can effectively filter and block untrusted connections and login attempts. SD-WAN also provides IPsec encryption VPN, Deep Packet Inspection, and L7 Firewall to ensure the security of VPNs. Paired with QuWAN Orchestrator, both QHora models help businesses build a flexible and highly-reliable next-generation network.
Built for modern offices, IoT, and noise-sensitive environments, the QHora-322 and QHora-321 feature a near-silent design that ensures cool, stable, and quiet operations even when under heavy load. Both QHora models employ a modern design that aesthetically fits into home or office environments.
