QTS 4.3.4 Brings Snapshot Support to the TS-1635 10GbE NAS, Providing a Highly Cost-effective Backup Solution with Large Storage Potential

Taipei, Taiwan, November 10, 2017 – QNAP® Systems, Inc. recently released the QTS 4.3.4 Beta OS for all QNAP NAS models, adding snapshot support to ARM-based models and lowering the memory requirements for snapshots to 1GB. Following this release, the high-capacity TS-1635 now supports snapshots, providing businesses and organizations with a higher cost/performance backup solution with larger storage potential.

Powered by Annapurna Labs Alpine AL-514 quad-core 1.7 GHz ARM® Cortex®-A15 processor, the TS-1635 provides 16 hard drive bays, allowing user to install twelve 3.5-inch HDDs and four 2.5-inch SSDs to accommodate massive amounts of data. After updating to QTS 4.3.4, not only can the TS-1635 store its own snapshots but it can also backup snapshots from multiple NAS with Snapshot Replica, making full use of its high storage potential to enhance data security and to mitigate the potential impact of ransomware attacks.

The ideology behind the design of TS-1635 is to provide users with a budget-friendly NAS solution with high storage potential. The TS-1635 features SATA 6Gb/s drive bays, dual 10GbE SFP+ and dual Gigabit RJ45 ports, a hardware encryption engine for high data protection, and a single PCIe slot for extending NAS functionality, providing small/medium businesses with a powerful yet economical quad-core 10GbE NAS solution.

“QNAP constantly strives to provide our users with the best performance/value NAS solutions. Compared with similar products, the TS-1635 provides the most budget-friendly, high-capacity NAS solution. Users can update to QTS 4.3.4 to start using snapshots and make the best use of TS-1635’s high capacity to centrally store a large number of snapshots from all their QNAP NAS,” said Jason Hsu, Product Manager of QNAP.
